How to download images from Flickr

Flickr grids load small copies of each photo. Larger sizes exist on the same server, and the owner decides whether the original can be downloaded.

Method 1: The download menu

Open a photo and use the download arrow, which lists the sizes the owner allows, sometimes including the original.

Method 2: Edit the image URL

Image addresses on live.staticflickr.com end with a size letter, such as _n.jpg or _z.jpg. Change it to _b.jpg for the 1024-pixel version. The original uses a different address that only the download menu gives you.

Method 3: A whole page into one ZIP

In a test on 23 October 2026, PixLasso found 54 images on Flickr Explore and 505 after a deep scan. It upgraded 386 of them to Flickr's 1024-pixel size. That is the large size, not the original upload. All 12 sample files downloaded into a valid ZIP.

  1. Add PixLasso to Chrome or Edge and open the page.
  2. Click the PixLasso icon, then Deep scan so it scrolls the page and collects images that load late.
  3. Set Min size to 300px to skip icons and avatars. Upgraded images carry an HD badge.
  4. Click Download. You get one ZIP, numbered in page order, converted to JPG if you choose.

The free version saves up to 30 images per download. See how other sites did on the works-with page.
