How to download Reddit images in full size

A Reddit feed shows each picture as a resized copy on preview.redd.it, usually 640 or 1080 pixels wide and often WebP. The file the poster uploaded sits on i.redd.it under the same ID, at its original size.

Method 1: One image by hand

Right-click the picture and choose Copy image address. The address looks like preview.redd.it/some-title-v0-abc123.jpeg?width=640&…. Keep only the ID and the extension and change the host: i.redd.it/abc123.jpeg. Open that address and save the image. Galleries need this for each picture.

Method 2: A whole subreddit page into one ZIP

PixLasso makes that address change for every picture on the page from version 0.1.1. In a test on 24 October 2026 on r/pics, it found 223 images after a deep scan and swapped 172 of them for the original upload. All 6 we checked were larger than the preview, for example 640x360 to 4000x2252. Each picture is listed once, not once for the preview and again for the upload.

  1. Add PixLasso to Chrome or Edge and open the subreddit or post.
  2. Click the PixLasso icon, then Deep scan so it scrolls the feed and collects posts that load late.
  3. Set Min size to 300px to skip avatars and award icons. Originals carry an HD badge.
  4. Click Download. You get one ZIP in page order, converted to JPG if you choose.

The free version saves up to 30 images per download. See how other sites did on the works-with page.
